Sacred Heart Service Opportunities

Subject: Sacred Heart service opportunities----DRAFT

Hello

In our former parish, Our Lady of the Fields we have been active in such different ministries as: teaching school of religious education/ CCD, feeding the homeless, and a guardian of the Eucharist for Adoration.

We both have gone through the Archdiocese (Baltimore) office of child and youth protection policy compliance program. Gerry also substitutes at both Spalding H.S. and the School of the Incarnation as well as with AA Co. schools. We both are interested in continuing this at Sacred Heart.

Gerry organizes some 15-20 casseroles the 4th Friday of each month and bakes them and has ready for them to be delivered to downtown Baltimore. He would be interested in continuing that mission at Sacred Heart.

We both are big believers in the power of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Love to be part of anything surrounding this most special gift.

I was considering implementing a regular scripture study as well at OLF (love to learn more about our first century Christians). So, love to do the same here--if you already have one--love to be a part. After perhaps the Rosary, we find strength in the Divine Mercy Chaplet and think this should be an implemental part of the parish. Not sure if you celebrate the chaplet here?

Also, working on the Corporal Works of Mercy--I am interested in working in a ministry which visits with the imprisoned. As well as some ministry involved in 'burying the dead.'

Not sure which ministry my two boys (12 yrs/ 8 yrs) could be of service, but I think my daughter (10 yrs) may be interested in the children's choir.

Thanks

The Scheidhauer's
Gerry, Sharon, Max, Brooke, Jack, and new baby boy due in Oct.
