2006 Kia Sedona LX: Check engine light problems

Wife test drove this brand new 2006 last Thursday--Feb 15 with Armen. Car had 300 miles on--I guess was question #1. Did someone purchase prior? Why so many miles? I drove a similar car from Laurel Kia day prior and it only had some 50 miles on it. Also, check engine light was on. Sales guy said due to cold/ not running/ ok believable? Next day when I came in they said it was repaired--no problem. I later on that day purchased a silver Kia Sedona LX for some $16k.

Saturday am--heading out to finalize with dealer--engine light comes on--car rumbles--takes a while to catch in gear? Dealer says no problem--quickly take it to service--while we finish with paperwork. They said all fixed.

Next day, check engine light back on????????

Bring it back on Monday. Wednesday afternoon I go to pick up car.

Thursday am--check engine back on again. Back to dealer--speak with vp of customer service and director of service. They tell me car will be fixed.

Today, I hear from cust service vp and she says needs a part no one at the moment has--wont be until Monday and after 'repaired' want to check out the car on tuesday am?

Tell them I am out of town on Weds.

I met with you today--guessing this is a form email just in response from
the service I received Monday through Wednesday. Yes, brand new car (2006
Kia Sedona) brought it in for the fourth attempt at repair. Hoping the
director of service can figure out once and for all what is wrong and see
that it is repaired--I don't need to be coming back again.

Per our conversation today, expecting daily updates on status of the
repairs--something I didn't get when I dropped it off on Monday through
Wednesday. Not sure what I would have known if I hadn't been calling up
regularly to check on status (including calls to many in sales dept/ service
dept with promised call backs).

Also of note, I am heading out of town on Wednesday so for sure hopefully
everything is completed before than--it would also be nice to enjoy our new
purchase.

I was hoping at this stage to be adding some after market items to the car
as well but you guys have had it more than myself (still need a roof rack,
DVD player, etc.).

Also, I was told by one of the sales manager's Ramin (sp?) that when I
brought it in back in on this last Monday he would clean it and fill the gas
tank up and that seems to be forgotten about when I picked it up last night
as well as I noticed the driver side floor carpet had black grease on it.

Once again thanks for your attention,

Gerry and Sharon Scheidhauer

Only thing new--Friday--recd call from Rose--VP cust service whom said they thought they fixed day prior but check engine light came on again. So they found another problem but dont have part and wont have until Monday.

Sharon called sales guy: Mike and asked for car to be swapped out and be replaced. Said he'd call back--that was around 11a.

At about 2ish I called back and spoke with sales manager: Farzad. He said he'd need to talk with GM. It is now 10a on Saturday and still havent heard back???

Why are we being punished for unworking car? Where is our compensation? Dont trust car will work after this. I am sure during the first 300 miles so one else had problems with it. It didnt start when we purchased it and been back in shop now on its 4th time in our history.

Plus now car must have over 600 miles on it and surely not more than a 100 are ours and how many of that is too or fro dealer?

We want replacement car. Even with that they owe us compensation for all the junk.

We'll see

Subject: want to make a deal?

Dear Tammy,

I just heard your radio ad about emailing you personally about making a deal. I have a 2006 Kia Sedona LX with 600 miles. I want to trade it for another like vehicle. I paid $16 k for it at your sister dealership, Ford/Kia Lanham DARCARS, just 7 days ago. I'm sure you're curious why I'd be trading a vehicle I've had for only one week. But then again, maybe you're aware of the quality of vehicles your relative Hess Darvish is selling off the lot and therefore are not surprised at all. Please let me know what you'd give me for a trade on this brand new vehicle. It's silver and still smells new!!! I'd love to take you up on your offer and get into a reliable new minivan.
The best way to reach me is thru this email, which I check frequently, or on my cell phone: .
Sincerely,

Sharon S
